Laura Cruse, 52, of Parsons, passed away Monday, August 8, 2022, at her home. Her death was unexpected.
Laura Ann Hicks was born on November 12, 1969, to Donald E. and Julianne (Daley) Hicks in Holton, Kansas. In 1974, Laura moved with her family to Parsons, where she grew up and attended school, graduating from Parsons High School in 1988.
She was an administrative assistant for Cedar Cottage at the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center.
A proud mother and grandmother, her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family.
On October 5, 1990, Laura and Scott Cruse were married in Miami, Oklahoma. The couple later divorced.

Two sons – Brett Cruse (Bianca) of Parsons, Kansas
Zach Cruse of the home
One daughter – Sara Cruse (Bryce) of Altamont, Kansas
Four grandsons – Dean, Henry, Easton and Carson
One brother – John Hicks (Tiffany) of Parsons, Kansas
One sister – Terri Jacobson of Lawrence, Kansas
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Hicks; her mother and step-father, Julianne and Charley Stevenson; and her sister, Julianne Hicks.
The family will receive friends 6 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 12, 2022, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
