Lawrence R. "Larry" Dwyer, 83, of Parsons, passed away Monday, January 25, 2021, in Joplin.
Lawrence Ronald Dwyer was born on August 9, 1937, to William Hugh "Honey" and Josephine (Colchin) Dwyer in Parsons. As a young boy, Larry grew up and attended school in Parsons, graduating from St. Patrick Catholic High School in 1955.
Following high school, Larry worked for the MKT Railroad and attended Labette County Junior College. He moved to Wichita and worked for Cessna Aircraft for a time. He later settled back in Parsons and worked for Ankortite, now Dayton Superior, for over 40 years.
He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He also enjoyed golfing and spending time at his lake house. Larry was known for his infectious laugh and always offering a smile. As one friend shared, "Larry taught your soul patience and was respected immensely for the way he treated others and for his fatherly instincts." Larry will be remembered for his good example and his belief in humanity.
In 1959, Larry and Patricia Ann Livingston were united in marriage. The couple later divorced.
