Leo N. Bogner, 73, a longtime farmer in rural Parsons, died at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 21, 2007, at his home.
He was born June 3, 1934 in Mt. Hope, Kansas, to John and Rosalia (Grassel) Bogner. From 1940 to 1948, he attended St. Joseph Catholic School in Ost, Kansas, and from 1948 to 1952, he attended Andale High School in Andale, Kansas. After graduating from high school, he served in the U. S. Navy from 1955 to 1957. In 1967, he moved to the Parsons area, where he farmed until 1996.
He was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church and was a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus.
For many years, he had been a member of the former St. Mary's Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, reading, baseball, woodworking and playing cards. He especially enjoyed being with his family and grandchildren.
He and Mildred Rausch were married May 9, 1959 at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Wichita.

He was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 24, 2007, at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, with military honors given by the Brown-Bishop Post No. 704, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Parsons. The Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m., and the Parish Rosary at 7:00 p.m., both Thursday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. Following the Rosaries, visitation will begin at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
