Leona "Bo" Abshere, 87, of Austin, Texas, formerly of Chetopa, Kansas, died at 1:01 p.m., Monday, May 30, 2011, at Hospice Austin's Christopher House in Austin, Texas.
She was born January 27, 1924, in Alto, Texas, to Fred Monroe and Lela Elizabeth (Edwards) Grimes. She moved with her family to Tishomingo, Oklahoma, and later Anadarko, Oklahoma where she grew up and attended school.
She and Marvin O. Abshere were married November 17, 1940, in Anadarko. In 1953, they moved to Lawton, Oklahoma where they owned and operated Marvin's Burgers for 17 years. She worked in the family business when needed and also enjoyed being a mother and homemaker. In July of 1994, she moved to Chetopa to be near her son, and in 2010, she relocated to Austin to be near her daughter.
She was a member of the Bartlett United Methodist Church. She enjoyed working outdoors, gardening, canning, reading and music.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Abshere, December 29, 1987; one sister, Emma Shellenberger; and one great-granddaughter, Ashley Coral Pacheco.
Following cremation, memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 6, 2011, at Becker Funeral Home in Lawton, Oklahoma.
