Leonard G. Wolke, Sr., 69, of rural Parsons, died early Thursday morning, September 25, 2008, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin. He had been in his usual health and death was not expected.
He was born November 30, 1938, in Garden Plain, Kansas, to William and Odelia Marie (Schulze) Wolke. As a young boy, he grew up and attended schools there.
He moved to Wichita where he worked at Cessna, as a carpenter, retiring from there in April of 1981. For a time, he worked for Neosho County, and later at Wal-Mart for 12 years.
He was a member of the Army National Guard.
He and Barbara K. Rose were married December 23, 1966, in Wichita, Kansas. She survives of the home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m., Sunday, September 28, 2008, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, in Parsons, with cremation to follow.
The family will hold private committal services at a future date with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, rural Dennis, Kansas.
