Leslie C. Busbee, 77, of rural Bartlett, Kansas, died at 3:42, p.m., Monday, July 18, 2016 at his home.
He was born on August 25, 1938 in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Ray Busbee and Thelma E. (Davis) Busbee. He grew up and attended schools in Guthrie, graduating from Guthrie High School in 1956. He was saved that same year and began preaching shortly after. He was active with the Church of God and was ordained in 1960. Pastor Busbee preached for almost 60 years in Anthony, Kansas, Springfield, Missouri, Coffeyville, Kansas, Guthrie, Oklahoma, and Enid, Oklahoma, where he retired. He also provided a children's tape ministry, nursing home ministry, and assisted in a program on KGGF Radio called "Herald of Truth" for several years. For 35 years he wrote "Bible Lessons" in the Sunday School Quarterly. He was a vital part of the Path of Life Christian School in Guthrie.
He and Sylvia J. Forbes were married on July 17, 1960 in Guthrie, Oklahoma. She survives of the home.

Two sisters – Doris Bardell Hot Springs, MT
Sandra Porter and her husband Richard Lake Park, GA
One sister-in-law – Dorothy Busbee Woodward, OK
He was preceded in death by two sons, Joseph Erle Busbee and Jonathan Ray Busbee, and two brothers.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the Monark Springs Campground in Neosho, Missouri. The family will receive friends at 8:30 a.m., Thursday morning until service time at the campground. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., on Friday,at the Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie, Oklahoma.
