Lester "Tim" Myers, 76, of rural Altamont, died at 5:20 a.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at his home. He had been in failing health.
He was born on May 15, 1931, in rural Altamont, to William Henry and Naomi (Cortner) Myers. As a young boy, he attended schools in rural Altamont and Altamont Grade School.
He and Arlene Darland were married August 17, 1952, in rural Parsons. She survives of the home.
He was a farmer, cattle rancher and bulldozer operator. He was also a beekeeper, operated a fish farm and drilled gas and water wells. He enjoyed raising registered coon dogs, hunting and fishing. He and Arlene had been presented the "Farm Family of the Year" award by FHA. He had made a profession of faith and was baptized at the Mound Valley Christian Church.

Jennifer Robinson, Tara Garrett, Kristen Myers, Jared Myers,
Ross Myers, Christine Myers and Michael Myers;
Three Great-Grandchildren;
Three Brothers – Ivan Myers, rural Oswego, KS;
Ben Myers, rural Dennis, KS;
David Myers, rural Mound Valley, KS;
Four Sisters – Irene Phillips, rural Dennis, KS;
His twin sister, Esther Jones, Pittsburg, KS;
Edna Bamberry, Altamont, KS;
Wanda Mae Mikel, Parsons, KS
He was preceded in death by one brother, Douglas Myers and three grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 2007, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Harmony Grove Cemetery near Dennis, Kansas. Friends may call at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home after 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 18, 2007.
