Lewis C. Sprague, 81, of Coffeyville, died at 1:10 p.m., Sunday, September 25, 2011, at his home. He had been in failing health.
He was born November 7, 1929, in Coffeyville, Kansas, to Clarence and Louisa (Franks) Sprague. As a young boy, he grew up and attended school in Coffeyville.
In younger years, he worked at the Coffeyville Ice Plant. He then worked at Brown Furniture in Coffeyville prior to beginning his 24-year career as a core setter at Jensen International where he worked until retiring in 1993.
He attended the River of Life Tabernacle in Coffeyville.
He and Peggy Larkin were married. To that union, a daughter, Margret, was born. Peggy preceded him in death. He and Fern Louise Nickel were married April 20, 1954, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. To that union, three children were born. She preceded him in death August 15, 2010.

He was preceded in death by one brother, four sisters, and Robert's infant twin brother, Ronald Sprague.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 30, 2011, at Lake Creek Cemetery near Bartlett. Friends may call at their convenience after 1:00 p.m., Thursday, at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa.
