Linda S. Gilliland, 57, of Chetopa, died at 12:43 p.m., Monday, March 15, 2010, in the Emergency Room at Labette Health.
She was born July 30, 1952, in Picher, Oklahoma to Forrest Russell Evans, Sr. and Juanita Mae (Watson) Evans. She attended Columbus schools, Coffeyville Community College, and graduated from the nursing program at Labette Community College in Parsons.
Through the years, she worked as a registered nurse at Coffeyville Medicalodge, Coffeyville Regional Medical Center and Chetopa Manor.
She enjoyed crocheting, researching genealogy, reading, and donated both time and items to Chetopa Museum and Library, Coffeyville Library and Columbus Library.
She and Lael D. Gilliland, Sr. were married November 7, 1968, at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. He survives of the home.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Jean Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 18, 2010, at the Church of God in Chetopa. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Chetopa. Friends may call at their convenience between 10:00 a.m., and 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa.
