Surrounded by her family, Lisa Sandusky, 48, of Altamont, passed away at 11:40 a.m., Sunday, September 29, 2019, at her parent's home in Altamont.
Lisa E. Sandusky was born on March 25, 1971, to Johnny Dwayne and Ellen Lucile (Kastler) Sandusky in Lawton, Oklahoma. At the age of six, Lisa and her family moved to Altamont where she grew up and attended school. She graduated from Labette County High School in 1989.
After high school, Lisa earned an Associate's degree in computer science from Labette Community College. Lisa had worked at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons and the former Vallis Business Forms in Cherryvale. Until her retirement due to health, she most recently worked at MJ's Burger House in Altamont, where she loved her customers.
Lisa was a member of the Parsons Nazarene Church. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. A diehard sports fan, Lisa enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, and her alma mater, the Labette County Grizzles, play. She especially enjoyed watching when her children were participating. She also enjoyed cross stitch.
She married Ricky Ghering on November 23, 1991, and to that marriage was born Haley and Kelsey. The couple later divorced. Lisa married Jeff Kohler on December 31, 2000, and to that marriage was born A. J. and John. The couple later divorced.

Two daughters – Haley Robb and her husband, T.J., of Altamont, Kansas
Kelsey Kellogg and her husband, Derek, of Whiteman Air Force Base, Johnson County, Missouri
Two sons – A. J. Kohler of Altamont, Kansas
John Kohler of the home
One step-daughter – Haley Thomas of Altamont, Kansas
Six Grandchildren – Adelynn and Myra Kellogg and Karson, Kameron, Kauner and Kaegan Robb
Her parents – Johnny and Ellen Sandusky of Altamont
Two Sisters – Shelley Pearce and her husband, Ed, of Parsons, Kansas
Robyn Daniels and her husband, Terry, of Independence, Kansas
Numerous Nieces and Nephews
Her special co-workers - Jamie, Marvin and Ray
The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 3, 2019, at the Parsons Nazarene Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Altamont. There will be a visitation from 6 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
