Lloyd D. Jones, 81, of rural Altamont, passed away at 9:11 p.m., Monday, April 3, 2023, at University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City, Kansas.
Lloyd Dean Jones was born on April 20, 1941, to Earl S. and Lucille (Ware) Jones in rural Mound Valley. At the age of five, Lloyd moved with his family to rural Altamont, where he grew up and attended school. In his senior year at Labette County Community High School, he served as the Future Farmers of America chapter president and also earned 2 nd place in an FFA State farming contest. Lloyd was in the first class to graduate in the Harrison Auditorium.
He was a lifelong farmer and rancher in the Altamont area. Automotive rebuilding and sales were also an interest of Lloyd's. He was the co-owner and operator of D & L Auto for a time.
A long-time active member of the Bible Holiness Church of Altamont, Lloyd served the church as a board member and treasurer throughout the years. He was a talented woodworker and enjoyed making many beautiful treasured gifts for family and friends. Another of Lloyd's creative accomplishments was turning an old unused grain bin on his property into a little vacation retreat for his family to enjoy.
On April 5, 1963, Lloyd and Mary Uitts were united in marriage in Independence, Kansas. Mary preceded him in death on January 29, 2006. Lloyd and Ruth Pattison were united in marriage on February 24, 2007, in Independence, Kansas. She survives of the home.

One daughter – Brenda Roark (William) of Loveland, Ohio
Three grandchildren – Trey Roark, Brittney Jones, and Brendan Hamilton
Two great-grandchildren – Kashton and Rosalina
One sister- Sharon Vaughn (Paul) of Independence, Kansas
Two sisters-in-law – Judy Smith and Tammie Stelle
Two nieces and seven nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary; one daughter, Cheryl Jones, on May 22, 2011; and two infant brothers, Marvin Lee Jones and Donnie Ray Jones.
The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 8, 2023, at the Bible Holiness Church of Altamont (708 7 th Street, Altamont). Burial will follow at the Mound Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, at the Bible Holiness Church of Altamont.
