Lloyd R. Malick, 67, of Parsons, passed away at 12:36 p.m., Monday, February 8, 2021, at Labette Health.
Lloyd Ray Malick was born on April 18, 1953, to Lorn L. and Betty L. (Thomas) Malick in Altamont, Kansas. As a young boy, he grew up and attended school in Altamont.
During the Vietnam War, Lloyd served in the United States Marine Corps. Following his service, Lloyd returned to southeast Kansas, settling in Parsons. For several years, he worked at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant. He then worked at Grandview Products for several years.
He was a member of the Parsons Foursquare Church. The most important thing to Lloyd was his family. He enjoyed hunting and watching professional wrestling.
On November 4, 1977, Lloyd and Virginia Smith were united in marriage in Miami, Oklahoma. She survives of the home.

Tracy Higginson and her husband, Doug, of Dennis, Kansas
Three grandchildren – Shala Williams and her husband, Derek; Tyler Gero and his wife, Kylie; and Tanner Smethwick
Four great-grandchildren – Connor and Landry Williams; and Brylee and Drew Gero
Two sisters – Brenda Lumm of Parsons, Kansas
Becky Ghering of Piedmont, Kansas
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Harold Hopkins; and four sisters, Melissa Hopkins, Kaye Hopkins, Rosetta Wilson, and Glenna Malick.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 12, 2021, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will take place at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call to sign the register and view Mr. Malick from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. The funeral service can be viewed live on the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home Facebook page. For all events, social distancing guidelines will be followed, including the requirement of face masks.
