Lloyd J. Maxton, 54, of rural Parsons, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2019, at his home.
On August 23, 1965, Lloyd Jay Maxton was born to Lloyd Zeff and Wilma J. (Bays) Maxton in Columbus, Kansas. Lloyd grew up and attended schools in Columbus and graduated from Columbus High School.
Following graduation, Lloyd joined the United States Army. His assignments included serving in Operation Desert Storm and being stationed in South Korea. After proudly serving his country for nine years, Lloyd was honorably discharged and returned to Southeast Kansas. He worked for the former Taylor Products, now Magnum Systems, in Parsons, for 27 years.
Lloyd's greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed demolition derbies, working on vehicles and spending time in his shop.
He married In Suk Chung in Seoul, Korea. The couple later divorced.

Becky Shipley of Parsons, Kansas
Nancy Kemp of Parsons, Kansas
Jennifer Stringer of Altamont, Kansas
Four Uncles – Paul Maxton of Columbus, Kansas
Jim Maxton of Galena, Missouri
Wayne Bays of Thayer, Kansas
Larry Bays and his wife, Debbie, of Jacksonville, Florida
Three Aunts - Nancy Cunningham of Parsons, Kansas
Caroline Bogard and her husband, Don, of Chetopa Kansas
Shirley Morris of Columbus Kansas
Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins
He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Maxton.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 25, 2019 at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Columbus with military honors given by Brown-Bishop Post No. 704, Veterans of Foreign Wars. The family will receive friends 6 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home.
