Lois G. (Neely) Graves, 93, of rural Bartlett, died at 8:00 a.m., Friday, March 9, 2012, at the Oswego Home Place in Oswego, Kansas.
She was born May 19, 1918, in rural Edna, Kansas to John and Jessie (Johnston) Neely. As a young girl, she attended numerous rural schools in the Edna area.
She and Arthur "A.D." Graves were married March 9, 1941, in Independence, Kansas. Following marriage, they made their family home in rural Bartlett. Through the years, she assisted her husband with their farming and ranching operation and had also worked at the Town and Country Dress Shop in Coffeyville for a number of years.
She was a member of the Altamont United Methodist Church and had attended the Bartlett Christian Church for the last several years. In earlier years, she had been a Sunday school teacher and Vacation Bible School teacher, 4-H leader, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed researching genealogy, quilting and embroidering, making clothes for her children and grandchildren and had made numerous trips with her sisters in later years. Lois especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and hosting family gatherings.

Seven Great-Grandchildren
One Brother – Burle Neely Coffeyville, KS
Two Sisters – Lila Volz Muskogee, OK
Normalea Ragel Garden City, KS
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Leta Conley.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 17, 2012, at the Bartlett Christian Church. Burial will be in Lake Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Friday, at the church.
