Altamont

Lois R. Robison, 91, of St. Paul and formerly of Altamont, passed away at 7:35 a.m., Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at Prairie Mission Retirement Village in St. Paul.

Lois R. Harshaw was born on December 12, 1930, to Oliver H. and Ona Gail (Wilkins) Harshaw in Oswego, Kansas. She grew up and attended school in the Oswego area, graduating from Labette County Community High School in 1948.

On April 1, 1950, Lois and Marion D. Robison were united in marriage in Oswego, Kansas. After raising her family, she began working as a clerk and bookkeeper for the Farmers Co-op in Altamont in 1969, a position she held until 1985. From 1986 to 1995, Lois was a part-time custodian for USD 506 at the Altamont Grade School.

She was very active in different groups over the years, including Swing 'N' Twirl Square Dance Club 1964-1992; Coffeyville Retread Motorcycle Club 1986-2021; Daughters of the Nile Azrim Temple No. 81, Pittsburg, Kansas 2000-2022. Helping young people in 4-H was one of Lois's passions as she was a 4-H leader for the Altamont Rooters 4-H Club from 1960-1997. Over the years, she was a supporter of all the Shrine groups and activities in which her husband participated. She was a seamstress and enjoyed making items that were sent to the Shrine Children's Hospitals making many lap quilts and other items for them over the years. After her husband passed, she and Frankie Hite took many bus trips. Besides spending time with her family, Lois enjoyed doing crafts, quilting, woodworking, camping and traveling.

Survivors include:

Two sons -        Wayne Robison (Linda) of Mound Valley, Kansas

Kevin Robison (Sally) of Altamont, Kansas

Two daughters - Charlotte Eichhorn (Mike-deceased), Altamont, Kansas

Wanda Delmont (Dan), Altamont, Kansas

Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion, on November 24, 2001; her daughter, Brenda Sharp, on August 22, 1985; her parents Oliver and Ona Gail Harshaw; her brothers Maurice, Francis, Kenneth, Eldon, and John; and her sisters Elizabeth Cooper, and Marian Becker.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 19, 2022, at the Western Way Cowboy Church in Altamont.  Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Altamont.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.

Memorials are suggested to Mirza Shrine Transportation Fund, Azrim Daughters of the Nile, or Daughters of the Nile Foundation (CEF).  These may be left at or mailed to the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS  67357.
