Lori Laforge

Lori R. (Gatton) LaForge, 55, of Parsons, KS, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at her home.

She was born on May 14, 1963, in Parsons to William and Peggy (Heady) Gatton. Lori grew up in Parsons and she attended Labette County High School.

On February 7, 1987, Lori and Gary R. LaForge were married in Parsons. He survives of the home.

Lori had worked at Dollar General, Power Flame, Country Mart and most recently as a cook at Parsons State Hospital and Training Center. She had been attending Pleasant Hill Church.

Her favorite pastime was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Lori also enjoyed fishing, softball, bowling and planting flowers.

Two Sons – Joe LaForge and his wife, Susan, of Parsons, KS

Jeremy LaForge and his wife, Laci, of Duenweg, MO

Two Daughters – Alexa Smith and her husband, Tommy, of Eufaula, OK

Monica George and her husband, Matt, of Mound Valley, KS

Her Mother – Peggy Gatton of Parsons, KS

Two Brothers – Rick Gatton and his wife, Debbie, of Altamont

Steve Gatton of Parsons

Twelve Grandchildren and One Great Granddaughter

Aunts and Uncles – Terry and Phyllis Sheffer and John and Pat Paul

Cousins – Deborah and Dennis Precht and their children, Maddie and Lynsey Precht; and Stacy and Stephanie Sheffer

She was preceded in death by her father, William E. Gatton, and one infant granddaughter, Holley Jo George.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 13 at 7:00 p.m. at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. The family will receive friends starting at 6:00 p.m., prior to the service.

Following cremation, a private family burial will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Altamont.
