Lorraine M. Westhoff, 87, a longtime resident of Walnut, died at 12:25 p.m., Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Prairie Mission Retirement Village in St. Paul.
She was born November 2, 1925 in rural St. Paul, Kansas to James Norris and Leila (Inman) Norris. She grew up in rural Walnut where she attended Hilton and Bethel Schools and was a graduate of Walnut High School.
Through the years, Lorraine worked at Police Brothers Grocery store in Walnut, as a housekeeper for the Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services, and at the Post Office in Walnut.
She enjoyed bowling and, in earlier years, played softball. She especially enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren's sporting events.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Walnut and Daughters of Isabella.
On February 5, 1946, she and John R. Westhoff were married at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Walnut. He preceded her in death on November 13, 1994.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Ronnie and Bill Westhoff; three brothers, Bill, Kenneth, and Bernard Norris; and one great-granddaughter, Jacinta Schibi.
The funeral Mass will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 9, 2013 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Walnut. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, at St. Patrick's Church in Walnut.
