Louisa M. Wiener, 82, of Parsons, KS passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, September 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Louisa was born in Velsen, Netherlands, the daughter of Saakje (Sara) Stoker and Andries Marcelis. She was the oldest of four siblings, Andre, Robert and Toos, whom she adored.

At the age of 20, Louisa left her small village in Holland for Amsterdam where she trained to become a flight attendant for Pan American Airlines. Beautiful, confident and determined to see the world, Louisa secured an International route that would take her from Amsterdam to New York City every two weeks. She embraced life with curiosity and courage and was always willing to experience something new and see the world from a different perspective.

In 1964, during one of her early layovers in New York City, Louisa attended a party with many of her Dutch friends. It was there that she met a young engineer named Bill Wiener. Within minutes of setting eyes on Louisa, Bill walked up to her and boldly declared, "I'm going to marry you someday." A year later, he did.

Louisa and Bill were married in a small ceremony at Temple Emanuel and began their life together in a tiny apartment in Manhattan. There, they would begin building their family and planning their life together filled with travel, hard work and countless adventures.

In 1972, those adventures would bring them to Parsons, Kansas where together they built a thriving business and became ensconced in their dream community. They found great joy in watching their three children Gregory, Laura and Kimberly grow and find success, and they admired the loving, kind, hardworking people who made this community special.

Louisa's devotion to her children, her husband and this community defined who she was and set the tone for all the good that she would accomplish in her life. In 1982, Louisa achieved something that reflected her adventurous and independent spirit: she earned her pilot’s license and was proud to take her family on small flights around Kansas; always in charge, always at the helm.

Louisa was also deeply philanthropic. She believed in giving back to the community she loved and generously shared her time, compassion and resources with others. Her kindness touched many lives, and her generosity was an important part of who she was.

Louisa enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family and making memories with the people she loved. Trips to Holland to see her family and quiet moments on the beach in Florida brought her tremendous joy. She appreciated the small, beautiful moments and carried herself with a quiet strength and an unmistakable grace.

Her legacy will live on through her three children, her grandchildren and great-grandchild, the people she helped and the many lives she touched.

Louisa will be dearly missed, and forever remembered.

She is survived by her children, Gregory Wiener of Chicago (David and Lucy, grandchildren), Laura Harlan and husband, Eric Harlan of Baltimore (Hannah and Alex, grandchildren, Zoe, great-grandchild) and Kimberly Schink and husband John Schink of Chicago (Sam, Ben and Max, grandchildren).

The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the service begins. After the service, burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Parsons.
