Louise M. Price

Louise Maxine (Rexwinkle) Price, 90, of Parsons died at 9:20 a.m., Sunday, November 26, 2006 at the Presbyterian Manor in Parsons.

She was born August 8, 1916 in Altamont, Kansas to William and Bessie (More) Rexwinkle. She grew up and attended elementary and high school in that area. During the war, she was employed at the Kansas Ordinance Plant.

She and LaVerne Price were married August 14, 1937 in Erie, Kansas. He preceded her in death on December 11, 2005. Together they made their home on a farm south of Parsons where they had a dairy for many years. She also was a homemaker.

She enjoyed painting china and belonged to local and state china painting groups and had taught china painting through the years. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Altamont, the Center Bethel Study Club's Home Demonstration Unit and 4-H leader.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Alanda Lee Price; two sisters, Hazel Irene Farmer and Genevive Marie Riggs; and six brothers; David Allen Rexwinkle, Wayne Rexwinkle, Lyle Rexwinkle, Marvin Rexwinkle, Kenneth Rexwinkle and Richard Rexwinkle.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 1, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Altamont. The family will hold private graveside services at the Edna Cemetery. Friends will be received by the family from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Friday at the church prior to the service. Friends may call at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons after 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church in Altamont or Hospice Care of Kansas. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, 405 Main, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
