Lucille M. Rosson, 84, of Edna, died at her home Sunday afternoon. She had been in her usual health and her death was unexpected.
She was born April 22, 1922 in Greenwood County, Kansas to William H. and Jesse M. (Goldy) Rogers. She grew up there and attended school at Yates Center.
She worked for a time at Sinclair in Coffeyville until her marriage to Vernon Rosson on September 19, 1947. He preceded her in death on January 3, 1985. They lived in Coffeyville until moving to Edna in 1950 where he ran a gas station. In 1959, they started their own mechanic business, Rosson Garage, which they operated until his death.
She enjoyed embroidery and other handcrafts. She especially enjoyed helping other people. She was a member of the Elm Christian Church, the Eastern Star and Royal Neighbors. She also was a member of ECO, the Edna Civic Organization.

Two Sons: DeWayne Rosson and his wife, Faith – Welch, Oklahoma
Roger Rosson and his wife, Joyce – Edna, Kansas
Five Grandchildren: Monica Rosson, Amanda Rosson, Emily (Rosson) Zwahlen and her husband, Kyle; Hilary Rosson and Will Rosson.
One Brother: W. H. "Bud" Rogers – Coffeyville
Two Sisters: Martha Neuhofel – Neodesha
Elizabeth Crossman and her husband, David – Tulsa, Oklahoma
Two Sisters in law: Pauline (Rosson) Kirkland-Schmidt – Mason City, Illinois
Betty Rosson – Coffeyville
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, William
Leslie Rosson who died August 2, 1949.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at the Elm Christian Church at Edna. The family will receive friends at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home at Altamont from 7 to 8 p.m., Tuesday. Memorials are suggested to the Elm Christian Church.
