Lucille Smith, 90, of Chetopa, Kansas, passed into Heavenly Father's hands on April 15, 2007.
She was born December 13, 1916, in Welch, Oklahoma, to Eddie and Sarah (Nelson) Hulsey.
She held the position of City Treasurer and Utility Bookkeeper for the City of Chetopa for 40 years, retiring April 13, 1982, and was awarded the honor of "Lucille Smith Day" by the mayor. Her life journey was full, and she loved spending time with her family and friends and was devoted to her church. She was an active member of the First Christian Church in Chetopa, holding the position of treasurer for several years. She was known by most as "Lucille", but affectionately known by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as "Grammie".
She felt serving her community was important and served as Clerk and Treasurer for U.S.D. 505 School District, President and Treasurer of the Historical Museum, and Secretary and Treasurer of the Chetopa Senior Citizens.
She married Bill Frogley, and later Frank Smith; both preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by her mother, father and one brother, Glen Hulsey.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at the First Christian Church in Chetopa. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa after 10:00 a.m., Tuesday.
