Luzania Loise Lubbers, 77, of rural Parsons, passed away the morning of Monday, June 17, 2024, at Elm Haven East.
Luzania Loise Byrd was born on January 23, 1947, to George William and Mamie Rachel (Knee) Byrd in Pindall, Arkansas. As a young girl, she grew up and attended school in St. Joe, Arkansas. After graduating from high school, she moved to Parsons, where she attended Labette Community College for a time.
She worked at Fred Ronald Manufacturing for over 10 years. In 1979, she began working at the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center. She retired after 31 years.
She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul Society. Her favorite past times included fishing, deer hunting, reading, quilting, gardening and going to the casinos. In earlier years, she was a member of a quilting guild.
On March 31, 1978, Loise and Eugene B. "Butch" Lubbers were united in marriage at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Parsons. He survives of the home.

Benny Byrd and his companion, Barbara, of Parsons, Kansas
Her twin sister – Joyce Smith and her husband, Harvey, of Bradford, Arkansas
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
The memorial Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 22, 2024, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Parsons. A private family burial will take place in Silver Hill, Arkansas. The rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m., Friday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the rosary.
