Lydia M. Lorimor, 95, of Parsons, passed away at 12:15 p.m., Sunday, July 26, 2020, at Elmhaven East in Parsons.
Lydia Mae Wolfe was born on December 13, 1924, to Clark and Elsie (Nichols) Wolfe in Summersville, West Virginia. She grew up and attended school in western Kansas, graduating from Bird City High School. After earning a Bachelor's of Science in Education from Fort Hays State University, Lydia taught in country schools.
She married Everett Woodard, who was in the United States Air Force. Upon returning from being stationed in Japan, the family lived in Bird City and Goodland, Kansas. In 1965, Lydia and Ivan Lorimor were married. The couple lived in Goodland, Kansas, before settling on a farm near Belleville, Kansas. They moved to Parsons in the early 2000's. Ivan preceded her in death on October 1, 2018.
In earlier years, Lydia was a member of the Nazarene Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed quilting and cooking.

Two sons – Monte Woodard and his wife, Janet, of Jacksonville, Florida
Larry Woodard and his wife, Regi, of Manhattan, Kansas
One daughter – Elsie Woodard and her companion, Dennis Leech, of Parsons, Kansas
Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren
One brother – Jackie Wolfe of Tacoma, Washington
Three sisters – Ruth Valentine of Montesano, Washington
Shirley Degenhart of Greeley, Colorado
Nola Abplanalt of Arkansas City, Kansas
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Lorimor; one granddaughter, Londa Bedore; one great-grandson, Dylan Brown; and three brothers.
A Private Family Memorial Service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 15, 2020, at the First Christian Church in Parsons. The service can be viewed live on the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home Facebook page.
