Lysle Raymond Dixon

Lysle Raymond Dixon, 80, of Chanute, died at 6:39 a.m., Sunday, September 30, 2007, at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute.

He was born February 14, 1927, in Altamont, to Roy E. and Besse (Workman) Dixon. He grew up and attended school in rural Labette County. He worked most of his adult life as a self-employed roofer in Wichita. For a time, he lived in California where he owned a landscaping business and later relocated to Wyoming. In October 2005, he moved to Chanute where he later entered a nursing home in December 2005.

He married Wilma K. Britting. They later divorced. He married Ruth Birdsong. They later divorced. On September 16, 1979, he and Thelma Patricia Patterson were married in Santa Ana, California. She preceded him in death March 8, 2003.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Janice Pape, two brothers, two sisters and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 3, 2007, at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Altamont. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 2, 2007, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or Chanute Healthcare Center. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
