Mable "Iown" Sanders, 90, of rural Parsons, died at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, November 17, 2007, at Labette Health.
She was born September 21, 1917, south of Parsons, to Charles and Myrtle (Mitchner) Blackburn. She grew up and attended schools in rural Labette County.
On August 16, 1943, she and Boyd D. Sanders were married in Joplin, Missouri. He survives of the home.
Following marriage, she was a childcare provider for many families in the Parsons area.
She enjoyed music, cooking, gardening and watching soap operas. She was an active member of the Church of the Nazarene where she assisted with funeral dinners and was also a nursery attendant.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Ray Edward "Buddy" Sanders; four brothers, Pad, Frank, Rollie and Bill Blackburn; and four sisters, Edna, Marjorie, Ella and Fern; and one step-brother, Floyd Goodrich.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 19, 2007, at the funeral home.
