Macy Ann Carson

Macy Ann Carson, 75, former long-time Parsons resident, passed away at her home in Lake Charles, Louisiana on Thursday, February 14, 2019.

She was born April 15, 1943 in Parsons, Kansas to Everett Arthur and Edith Elizabeth (Mason) O'Bryan. Macy grew up in Parsons where she attended school and graduated from Parsons High School.

She later moved to Northern California where she worked as a bookkeeper for 20 years on a pear ranch. In the early 1990s, Macy returned to Parsons where she lived until moving in 2012 to Louisiana to be near her family.

She enjoyed traveling from Louisiana to Kansas, eating out, especially at Lambert's and Cracker Barrel, and playing the computer game "Words with Friends" with her sister, Betty. While living in California, Macy learned to make the best Mexican food that she enjoyed sharing with family and friends.

She and Louis Eugene Carson were married. They later divorced.

Sam Stern of Kansas City, KS

She was preceded in death by one brother, Ed O'Bryan; one sister, Lei Wade; and one son, Robert Carson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 22, 2019 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Parsons. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
