Marcus R. Ramsey

Marcus R. "Bubba" Ramsey, 45, of Parsons, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at Mercy Maude Norton Emergency Department in Columbus, Kansas.

Marcus Ray Ramsey was born on November 8, 1977, to George William Ramsey, Sr. and Nelsie Jane (Davis) Ramsey in Parsons.  As a young boy, he grew up and attended school in Parsons, graduating from Parsons High School in 1997.

In November 1997, Marcus began his career at the Parsons Middle School, where he worked his way up to head custodian until his disability retirement in July 2015.

Marcus enjoyed working on and riding mini-bikes and go-carts, and going fishing and hunting.  In his earlier years, he enjoyed woodworking.  The last ten years, Marcus participated in auctions, especially buying storage units, and flea marketing.

Survivors include:

One brother – James S. Ramsey of Parsons, Kansas

One sister – Julie Ramsey of Parsons, Kansas

One beloved niece – Alyssa Ramsey

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Nelsie Ramsey; and one brother, George W. "Jim" Ramsey, Jr.

The graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Mound Valley Cemetery.  Friends may stop by the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons to sign the register from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday.
