Margaret V. Bamberry, 96, of Brentwood, Tennessee, and formerly of Altamont, Kansas, passed away at 6:48 p.m., Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, Tennessee.
She was born March 31, 1921 near Angola, Kansas to Wilbur and Tennessee (Worley) Vail. As a young girl, she moved to rural Mound Valley with her family. She attended Richland and Pioneer grade schools and graduated from Labette County High School in Altamont in 1936.
On February 14, 1939, she and Edward Bamberry, Jr. were married in Parsons. After marriage, the couple lived in rural Parsons until moving to Altamont in 1984 following retirement. Margaret was currently living in Tennessee to be near her daughter.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Altamont and a former member of Hopewell Baptist Church in rural Mound Valley. Margaret was an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed sewing for her family and friends and had made several wedding gowns for family. Being very artistic, Margaret enjoyed oil painting and had taught various craft classes through the years. In earlier years, she was a 4-H leader and a member of the Caldwell Circle Extension Club.

Sharon Landers and her husband, John, of Brentwood, TN
Nine Grandchildren – Kimberly Redstone, Jim Redstone (Janet), Valerie Nichols (Dana), Penelope Patton (Joe), Becky Dunn, Virginia Landers, John Landers, Jr., Rich Landers (Andrea), and Jamie Shipp (Tony)

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Bamberry, Jr., on December 7, 2006; one daughter, Elizabeth Louise Good, on May 25, 1966; one great-grandson, Seth Dunn; two brothers, Wendell Vail and Mertis Vail; and two sisters, Fannie Taylor and Wilma Wood.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Altamont. Burial will be at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Parsons. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the First Baptist Church in Altamont.
