Margaret A. "Peggy" Smith

Margaret A. "Peggy" Smith, 80, of Parsons, passed away at 8:05 p.m., Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Parsons Good Samaritan Society.

She was born September 29, 1938 in Los Angeles, California to Maurice Kennedy and Mildred (Schollhammer) Screws. She grew up and attended schools in Los Angeles.

She and Wayne R. Smith were married in November of 1953 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He preceded her in death in 1984.

In the early 1990's, Peggy moved to Parsons where she had lived since. While living in Parsons, she worked as a housekeeper at Elmhaven Nursing Home for several years. She enjoyed reading and loved cats.

Survivors include:

Two Sons – Robert "Bob" Smith of Palmdale, CA

Lee Roy Smith of Lancaster, CA

One Daughter – Linda Hickman of New River, AZ

Several Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, and Great-Great-Grandchildren

One Brother – William Screws of Parsons, KS

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.  Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Parsons.  The casket will remain closed.
