Margie M. Atkinson, 77, of Parsons, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2016 at her home.
She was born December 30, 1938 in Sayre, Pennsylvania to Donald and Margie Marie (Saunders) Nichols. Margie grew up in Athens, Pennsylvania where she graduated from high school.
For many years, she worked for IBM as a solderer, and later at P&C Grocery and Newberry's Department Store, all in Owego, New York.
She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting, and was a foster mother to a young boy for two years.
She and John Atkinson were married in 1970 in Owego, New York. He preceded her in death on March 2, 1990.
Survivors include:
Two Sons – David Ford and his wife, Anne Madison, WI
Kevin Ford and his wife, Geri Tampa, FL
Two Daughters – Debra McAdams and her husband, Scott Parsons, KS
Diane Ford Binghamton, NY
Thirteen Grandchildren
Six Great-Grandchildren
One Brother – Robert Nichols VA
Following cremation, no services are planned at this time. Burial of the cremains will be at Ashland Cemetery in Wellsburg, New York at a future date. The Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons is in charge of arrangements.
