Margie L. Crager, 82, of St. Paul, died at 2:15 a.m., Sunday, December 29, 2013 at her home. She was born November 8, 1931 in Walnut, Kansas to George W. and Adel F. (Brazil) McAtee. As a young girl, she grew up in St. Paul where she attended school and graduated from St. Paul High School. On January 5, 1952, she and Richard B. "Ben" Crager were married at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul. They lived in Parsons seven years before returning to St. Paul. She then worked at St. Paul schools for seven years before attending Pittsburg State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Through the years she had worked as a registered nurse at Labette County Medical Center in Parsons, Living Skills in St. Paul, Arkhaven Nursing Home in Erie, and in 1997 retired from the Neosho County Health Department. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul and the Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed making rosaries, serving others and many other hobbies. Survivors include: Six Sons – Fr. Richard Crager, S.D.B. Tampa, FL Dan Crager and wife, Kimberly Pittsburg, KS Ken Crager and wife, Paula St. Paul, KS Dean Crager and wife, Karen Pittsburg, KS Kelly Crager and wife, Jennifer Lubbock, TX Craig Crager Wichita, KS Two Daughters – Colleen Cook and husband, Robert Rockwall, TX Nancy Giefer and husband, Rick St. Paul, KS Twenty-Four Grandchildren Twenty-Five Great-Grandchildren Son-in-law – Gary Volmer and wife, Kerry Parsons, KS Two Brothers – Leonard McAtee St. Paul, KS Gene McAtee and wife, Barbara Gardner, KS Sister-in-law – Rosie Crager Coffeyville, KS Numerous Nieces and Nephews She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard B. "Ben" Crager, on February 5, 2003; daughter, Cynthia Volmer in 1983; daughter-in-law, Sherri Crager in 1983; grandson, Trent Crager in 1983; one great-granddaughter, Jacinta Schibi in 2009; five brothers, Don, Harold, Paul, Jim and George, Jr., "Short"; and two sisters, Katie Smith and Mary Lou Crager. The funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 2, 2014 at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in St. Paul. The Parish rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the church. The Daughters of Isabella rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, at the church. The family will receive friends immediately following the Parish rosary in Parish Hall. Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Church Garden Fund, Salesians of Don Bosco or Mary Help of Christian Center. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O.
