Maria Luveano, 92, of Parsons, passed away at 2:05 a.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Parsons Presbyterian Manor.
She was born December 25, 1923 in Parsons, Kansas to Jesse and Trinidad (Hernandez) Luevanas. As a young girl, Maria grew up and attended school in Parsons.
She later lived in the home of Joseph A. and Anna Carson where she worked as a housekeeper. From 1955 to 1976, Maria lived with Joe and June Carson and their family where she worked as a nanny and assisted June in operating Thompson Motel. In 1966, Maria began working in housekeeping at the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center where she continued until her retirement in 1989.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons, its Altar Society, and Daughters of Isabella. Maria enjoyed working in her yard, volunteering at St. Vincent DePaul Society, and loved her dogs.

She was preceded in death by her dear friend, June Carson, on September 26, 2006; and Marshall Keller, on July 1, 2010.
The funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 30, 2016 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m., Friday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. The family will receive friends immediately following the rosary at 7:30 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
