Marie Ernestine "Ernie" Kinsch, 85, of Parsons, died at 2:35 a.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at Elmhaven East Nursing Home in Parsons.
She was born October 14, 1923, in Claremore, Oklahoma, to Ernest Andrew and Grace Marie (Cheatham) Durbin. She grew up and attended schools in Claremore and Osage, Oklahoma.
Through the years, she worked at the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center in the Daycare Center, and most recently, at Wal-Mart.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In earlier years, she enjoyed traveling extensively with her husband, flower gardening, crocheting and feeding birds.
She and Emery B. Horton were married. They later divorced. She and Arthur L. "Art" Kinsch were married August 6, 1950, at Erie, Kansas. He preceded her in death April 1, 2004.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 10, 2009, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Burial will be in East Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Thursday, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
