Marie Kennett

Marie Kennett, 93, of Pittsburg, died at 5:25 p.m., Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg.

She was born September 10, 1916, in Pittsburg, Kansas, to Walter and Ethel (Jones) Thomas. She grew up and attended school in Pittsburg.

She and Earl Kennett were married July 8, 1935, in Pittsburg. Following marriage, they lived in Pittsburg where she worked as a cook in various nursing homes in the area.

She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

One Sister – Frances Swartz Pittsburg, KS

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Kennett, October 6, 1997; one brother and four sisters.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Pittsburg. Friends may call from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Friday, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons to sign the register.
