Marie Phillips, 46, of Parsons, passed away at 12:42 p.m., Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
She was born May 16, 1969 in Leavenworth, Kansas to Mary Lea Lucke. As a young girl, she grew up in Erie, Chanute and Parsons. In 1987, Marie graduated from Parsons High School and later attended Labette Community College.
She was an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She enjoyed volunteering at church, singing in the choir, and assisting with the Youth Praise Band and Songbirds, the youth choir. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, dancing, baking, crocheting, and loved her dogs.
On December 18, 1989, she and Tracy A. Phillips were married at the Wesley United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Samson, on February 12, 2007; her stepfather, Peter Ronald Samson, on November 18, 2007; and one brother, Bobby Lucke.
The family will hold a memorial service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Parsons.
