Marion P. Leistikow, 80, of Parsons, passed away the afternoon of Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at her home.

Marion Patricia Franklin was born on March 6, 1943, to Guy David and Edna Mary (McKnight) Franklin in rural Parsons.  She grew up and attended school in rural Parsons at Oak Grove Country School, graduating from Erie High School in 1961.

On March 16, 1963, Marion and Norman Leistikow were united in marriage in South Mound, Kansas.  They lived in rural Parsons until moving into Parsons in 2008, where Marion has lived since.

She was a member of the South Mound Methodist Church and in more recent years, Center Bethel Church in rural Parsons.

Family was the center of Marion's life and she loved taking care of her grandchildren.  She also enjoyed planting flowers, watching birds and reading books.

Survivors include:

Two sons – Guy Leistikow and his wife, Nita, of rural Parsons, Kansas

Kelly Leistikow and his wife, Becky, of Parsons, Kansas

One daughter – Mary Reynolds and her husband, Tim, of Parsons, Kansas

18 grandchildren

25 great-grandchildren

Three sisters – Barbara Curnutte and her husband, Fred, of Altamont, Kansas

Carol Harpster and her husband, Eugene, of Mound Valley, Kansas

Virginia Schoenhofer and her husband, Bob, of St Paul, Kansas

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman, on August 9, 2013; an infant son, James Edward Leistikow; one brother, Carl Franklin; and two sisters, Norma Hibbs and infant Shirley Jean Franklin.

There will be a graveside service at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 24, 2024, at South Mound Cemetery in South Mound.  Friends may stop by the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home to sign the register from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday.

Memorials are suggested to SKIL Resource Center.  These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS  67357.
