Marjorie M. Twedell, 90, of Parsons, formerly of Dallas, Texas, died at 3:55 a.m., Sunday, May 8, 2011, at Labette Health.
She was born July 2, 1920, in Athol, South Dakota, to Earl and Nettie Mae (Holbrook) Strong. She grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, married Fred Rich and had three children, Shirley, Carole and Fred, Jr. After divorce, she married Richard A. Twedell on October 19, 1951, in Dallas, and had one son, David. Richard A. Twedell preceded her in death in May of 1989.
Following the death of her husband, she remained in Dallas until June of 2000. In 2003, she moved to Parsons after the death of her daughter, Shirley, and son-in-law, Walt, to be with her daughter, Carole.
In earlier years, she had attended the Nazarene church. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

One Daughter – Carole Veenis Parsons, KS
Seven Grandchildren
Twelve Great-Grandchildren
Five Step-Great-Grandchildren
In addition to her husband, "Dick", she was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister, and one daughter, Shirley Jean Yantis.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 12, 2011, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons with Rev. Rodney Howell officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at their convenience at the funeral home after 1:00 p.m., Wednesday.

"Grandma Marge" was very loved by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love, laughter and guidance at her Dallas home will always live within their hearts and memories. She will be truly missed.
