Mark L. Aikins, 48, of McCune, died at 11:40 p.m., Thursday, September 16, 2010, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin.
He was born July 24, 1962, in Chanute, Kansas, to Marvin L. and Rita (Overby) Aikins. As a young boy he moved to Urbana, Kansas, with his family then to Alief, Texas, where he attended high school. He worked with his father in construction before attending Tulsa Welding School. He then worked as an apprentice electrician in Kansas City. In 1990, he moved to Parsons and worked for A-Lert Construction in Erie. He later moved to McCune and was currently employed by Tri-State Roofing in Pittsburg.
He enjoyed music and attending concerts, fishing, woodworking, being outdoors, collecting shark teeth, and hunting arrowheads. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He and Angela "Angie" Clemens were married June 6, 1986, in Miami, Oklahoma. They later divorced.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
