Mark Allen Carter, III, 17, of Oswego, died at his home, Monday evening, February 7, 2011. He had been in his usual health and death was not expected.

He was born September 9, 1993, in Parsons, Kansas, to Mark Allen Carter, Jr. and Heather Dawn Armstrong. He had attended Oswego schools since pre-school and was presently a junior at Oswego High School. He participated in OHS band and had played football two years in Jr. High, and as a freshman and sophomore in high school. He loved music, playing basketball and video games, and was an avid skateboarder. He especially enjoyed playing his guitar and working at Sonic in Oswego.

He attended Oswego Christian Church and had attended Christian Athletes Camp for two years. Through the years, he also participated in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.

Mark was a beloved son, grandson, brother, relative and friend and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Mark Carter; paternal great-grandparents, Myrna Willis and Bill Castle; and maternal great-grandfather, Jerry North.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at the Oswego Christian Church. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Chetopa. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Monday, at the church.
