Marlys Jean Parks

Marlys Jean Parks, 57, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 22, 2007. She was born December 5, 1949 in Parsons Kansas to Margaret M. & Richard E. Parks. Her unexpected death was the result of a severe respiratory condition and followed a brief stay in the Tulsa Regional Medical Center in Tulsa Oklahoma.

Marlys was an exceptional individual, having worked faithfully for 25 years at the RARC Workshop in Jenks, Oklahoma. She is much loved by all who knew her and will be missed by a host of friends and her family who include her devoted mother, Margaret M. Parks of the home; Father and wife, Richard E. & Margaret E. Parks of Cherryvale, Kansas; Sister: Virginia Swanwick of McKinney, Texas; Nephew: Emmanuel Swanwick & wife, Jessica of Mesquite, Texas; Aunts: Marjorie D. Harshaw of Jenks, Oklahoma; Dorothy Stewart & husband Leo of Green Valley, Arizona; and Rina DeLester of Joplin, Missouri.

Marlys was preceded in death by her Grandparents: Mina Mae & Ralph Mosler, Fritz May, Ivan Parks, and Grace Thorpe.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 26, 2007 at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Altamont. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5:00 p.m., Thursday, January 25, 2007. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. and at 9:00 a.m., Friday, prior to the service.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the good works of the RARC Workshop in Jenks, Oklahoma. These may be left at or mailed to Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 325, Altamont, KS 67330.
