Martha P. Duecy

Martha Pearl Duecy, 92, of Galesburg, passed away at 1:05 a.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at Prairie Mission Retirement Village in St. Paul.

Martha Pearl Bennett was born on February 18, 1930, to Roy and Blanche (Raymond) Bennett in Fairview Township in Labette County.  She grew up and attended school in Altamont, graduating from Labette County Community High School in 1948.

On January 23, 1948, Martha and Charles "Dwain" Duecy were united in marriage in Oswego, Kansas.  The family lived in Galesburg until moving to Erie in 1963.  For many years, the family owned and operated Duecy Grain and Erie Grain.

Family was the center of Martha's life and she especially loved spending time with her grandkids. In earlier years, she enjoyed dancing and going to Grand Lake with her family and friends.

Survivors include:

Three sons – Randy Duecy of Ft. Myers, Florida

Michael Duecy and his wife, Lucia, of San Marcos, Texas

Terry Duecy and his wife, Kay, of Parsons, Kansas

Many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwain, on April 1, 2014; two sons, Lynn Duecy and Alan Duecy; one grandson; and one brother, Dwight Bennett.

There will be a private family service for interment of cremains at Galesburg Cemetery at a later date.
