Marvin E. Cunningham, 93, of rural Weir, Kansas, passed away at his home early Saturday, September 11, 2021.
Marvin Eugene Cunningham was born October 26, 1927 near Bartlett, Kansas to Clarence Henry Cunningham and Mary Diana (Hall) Cunningham. Marvin grew up and attended schools in the Bartlett area. He graduated from the Labette County Community High School in 1945. Following school, Marvin worked as a farm hand for a few years in Johnson, Kansas. Later he worked for many years for Funk Manufacturing in Coffeyville where he retired in 1978.
Marvin was united in marriage to Leta E. Tullis at rural Bartlett on September 9, 1949 and they had celebrated 72 years of marriage two days before his death. Marvin and Leta lived in Bartlett for many years where he had been an active part of the community, serving on the school board, the Bartlett city council, volunteer fire department, 4H leader and coaching little league baseball. He had even helped build the baseball fields at Bartlett. In the early 1990s, Marvin and Leta moved to their current home in rural Weir, Kansas.

Becky (Kyle) Jones
Kenzie (Mitch) Turnbull
Ten Great-grandchildren and One on the way.
In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by a son, Gary Cunningham, an infant granddaughter, Kari Livingston and a sister, Dorothy Barragar.
Funeral services for Marvin Cunningham will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Bartlett Community Church with Pastor Lane Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at the Lake Creek Cemetery near Bartlett.
The Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons is in charge of arrangements. No public viewing or visitation will be held prior to the funeral time on Saturday.
