Mary Denise Dunn, 50, of Parsons, died at 1:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at her home.

She was born October 28, 1963 in Parsons, Kansas to Jesse and Eleanor Louise (Williams) Dunn. She grew up in Parsons where she attended school and was a 1982 graduate of Parsons High School. Through the years she had worked at the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center, Kansas Army Ammunition Plant, Labette County Medical Center, and most recently as a caregiver through Southeast Kansas Independent Living.

She was a member of Watson Memorial Church of God in Christ. She enjoyed photography and cooking and loved caring for her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include one son, Christopher Jerel Dunn, of Parsons, KS; one daughter, Kasha Lynn Springer, of Parsons, KS; three grandchildren, Nyia Dunn, Christopher Jerel Dunn, Jr. and Stevie Deliane Logan, III; three brothers, Curtis Dunn, William Patrick Dunn and Jerold Michael Dunn, all of Parsons, KS; five sisters, Cleo Golston, Jewel Dunn, Janice Dunn, Jacqueline Harris, and Lovey Walker, all of Parsons, KS; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Terry "O.G." Dunn; and one sister, Karen Dunn.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.Memorials are suggested to Susan G. Komen for breast cancer research.
