Mary L. Johnson, 73, of rural McCune, passed away at 4:20 a.m., Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at the Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.

She was born September 6, 1945 in Parsons, Kansas to John "Cyril" Madl and Erville Corrine (Allen) Madl. She grew up and attended schools in Walnut and St. Paul.

Mary had worked at the Walmart Pharmacy, Dwayne's Photo, and for many years owned and operated Mary's Pampered Pups Kennel where she raised registered Lhasa Apso, Shih Tzu, and poodles.

She was a member of the Tri-County Pet Association and Kansas Pet Professionals. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, photography, flower gardening, and woodworking.

On February 9, 1991, she and Randy Johnson were married in Parsons. He survives of the home.

One Stepdaughter – Karen Williamson and her husband, Eddie, of Oswego, KS

Dale Madl (Tracee) of Girard, KS

David Madl (Tawnya) of Frontenac, KS

Gary Madl (Michelle) of Anderson, MO

Four Sisters – Janet T. Shears (Steve) of Parsons, KS

Carolyn Hudson of Scammon, KS

Betty Vance (Kenny Simons) of Stark, KS

Donna Walters of Erie, KS

Numerous Nieces and Nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, John R. Madl, Paul F. Madl, and Chris A. Madl; one sister, Alberta R. Bishop; and two nephews, Adam Madl and Rick Vance.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 14, 2018 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons with Pastor Eddie Williamson officiating. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery at St. Paul, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Thursday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to the Golden Paw Animal Rescue and Sanctuary in Joplin, Missouri. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
