Mary Lou Perez

Mary L. Perez, 75, of Parsons, passed away at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 21, 2020, at the home of her daughter in Frontenac.

Mary Lou Porras was born on July 1, 1945, in Parsons, the daughter of Concha "Connie" (Hernandez) Vaughn. As a young girl, she grew up in Parsons and attended St. Patrick Catholic School, graduating from St. Patrick High School.

A devoted wife and mother, Mary spent her life caring for her family. She was a lifelong member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, dedicated to her faith, spending many hours in prayer in the St. Patrick's Adoration Chapel. She helped fold church bulletins, helped as a lunch room aide at St. Patrick Catholic School. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed the outdoors and nature.

On May 23, 1966, Mary and Charles J. "Carlos" Perez, were united in marriage. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1998.

Two sons – Charles Perez, Jr. (Rebecca Adams) of Lewisville, Texas

Angelo Perez (Janice Young) of Parsons, Kansas

Four daughters – Anna Perez of Frontenac, Kansas

Stephanie Loyd of Frontenac, Kansas

Carla Perez of Parsons, Kansas

Paulette Dalcour (Kevin) of Melissa, Texas

Nine grandchildren

One great-granddaughter

She was preceded in death by her mother; her husband, Charles J. "Carlos" Perez, Sr.; and one brother, Phillip Porras.

There will be a graveside service at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 25, 2020, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
