Mary Ann Sears, 68, of Parsons, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014 at her home.
She was born March 21, 1946 in Oakland, California to James and Ada (Breach) Young. She attended elementary and high school in Sonora, California.
In 1982, she moved to Parsons. On November 6, 1982, she and Ted Sears were married in Parsons. Through the years, she worked as a bookkeeper at Sherwood Cabinets and as a certified medication aide at Westbrook Manor. She also had a commercial driver's license and drove a truck with her husband.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, taking care of her many animals, and traveling to New Orleans. She was a member of the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).
Survivors include her husband, Ted Sears, of the home; one son, Brice Overman, N. Chicago, IL, two daughters, Heather Hein, Parsons, KS and Mary Claire Villano, Parsons, KS; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one brother, Edward Young, Carmel, CA; and two sisters, Reetha Lee, Shingle Springs, CA and Arlene Kennedy, Cherryvale, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. No services are planned at this time.
