Mary Lea Stich, 57, of Galesburg, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017 at her home.
She was born May 2, 1959 in Neodesha, Kansas to Everett Lee and Beverly Beatrice (Travis) Price. She grew up in Vilas, Kansas and attended school in the Altoona-Midway School District. She was a 1977 graduate of Altoona-Midway High School and earned an Associate's degree from Neosho County Community College in 2000.
On January 7, 1977, she and Steven L. Stich were married at the Vilas Bethel Lutheran Church. Following marriage, they lived on a farm in the rural Thayer area. In 2001, the family moved to Galesburg where they have lived since.
In earlier years, Mary worked at Ducommun in Parsons and was currently employed at Neosho County Community College in Chanute. She was a Lutheran. She was a member of the Association of Kansas Community College Office Professionals. Mary was an accomplished seamstress, enjoyed making quilts for her family and friends, and was a proud supporter of Autism and the Upward Bound Program at Neosho County Community College.
Survivors include her parents, Everett and Beverly Price, Vilas, KS; one son, Randall Stich and his wife, Tracey, Chanute, KS; two daughters, Delores Stich, Erie, KS and Lisa Wilson and her husband, Steven, Wichita, KS; ten grandchildren, one brother, Bud Price and his wife, Debi, Pomona, KS; and three sisters, Sue Alford and her husband, Paul, rural Chanute, KS, Linda Koch and her husband, Dave, Benton, KS, and Shirley Farmer and her husband, Brad, Viola, KS; and in-laws, John and Betty Stich, rural Thayer, KS.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Steven Stich, on April 3, 2007; one brother, Bill Price; and a granddaughter, Brittany Lanagan-Stich.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Harrison Cemetery near Thayer. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
