Mary M. Thomas, 74, of Topeka and former longtime Parsons resident, passed away the evening of Thursday, November 26, 2020, at University of Kansas Medical Center in Topeka.
Mary Marlane Morris was born on August 28, 1946, to Francis and Susie Cinderella (Whetzel) Morris in Leavenworth, Kansas. She grew up and attended school in Galesburg. Following graduating from Parsons High School, Mary worked as a nurse's aide in hospitals and nursing homes.
She was a member of the Westside Christian Church. Collecting baseball cards and stamps and listening to Country Music were some of Mary's favorite pastimes.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Richard W. Youngo; and two sisters, Leola Rusch and Jeannie Hopkins.
The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 4, 2020, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery. Friends may call to sign the register from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday. The funeral service can be viewed live on the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home Facebook page.
