Mary E. Wade, 92, formerly of Chetopa, died at 4:45 p.m., Monday, April 16, 2007, at Sunset Manor Nursing Center in Frontenac.
She was born February 12, 1915, in Chetopa, Kansas, to Herbert N. and Mary A. (Stevens) Wade. After graduating from Kansas State Teachers College in Pittsburg, she taught in two rural Labette County one room schools, Chetopa, Fowler, Kansas and Dodge City.
She was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church in Chetopa and Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Wade.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 19, 2007, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Chetopa. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa.
