Matthew "Matt" McCann, 45, of Parsons, formerly of Ft. Scott, died at 8:15 a.m., Saturday, October 25, 2008, at his home. He had been in failing health.
He was born September 27, 1963, in Ft. Scott, Kansas, to Patrick E. and Wanda Mae (Hall) McCann. He grew up and attended schools in Ft. Scott and was a graduate of Ft. Scott High School.
He was employed by the City of Ft. Scott Police Department, as a dispatcher, until he was injured in an automobile accident and became disabled.
He was a Catholic. He enjoyed listening to music.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 31, 2008, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons.
Burial committal services will be held at 12:00 noon at Evergreen Cemetery in Ft. Scott.
